What is Tracing? Vectorization? Why Use Vector Images?

Tracing (aka vectorization) is the process of converting a bitmap image (e.g. JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, PSD) to a vector image (e.g. EPS, SVG, PDF, AI, DXF, EMF). Vector images are often used when printing, screen printing, doing embroidery and in many other graphic design applications.

  • No more tedious hand-tracing. Hand tracing can take hours, and it can be costly to hire a professional to recreate the image. Why not let Vector Magic do the work, saving you time and money?

However, to download you need to either subscribe to Vector Magic Unlimited (giving you unlimited downloads) or exchange 1 token for the vector results for which you wish to enable downloading. Alternatively, you can buy the Desktop Edition and use the software offline.

Enabling downloading for an image allows you to download the vectorized result in all provided output formats. You are free to re-vectorize the image until you are satisfied. Your image and associated result will be available for at least 14 days from the time you enable downloading, provided you do not delete them before that.
